DO YOU HAVE BOOTHS FOR SALE?
No. Every booth we restore is one of our babies, and we have no intention to sell. Analog photobooths are extremely rare, as production ended in 1995, and there are fewer than 300 operating worldwide. There are a few talented technicians who restore and sell photobooths, but it’s highly limited (and expensive). If you are seriously in the market and have questions, we recommend contacting Photo Illusion.
DO YOU buy BOOTHS?
Yes, yes, a thousand times yes! If you have or know of an analog booth for sale, we’d be thrilled to purchase and restore it, giving it new life! Please email us at theboothbuds@gmail.com!
DO YOU DO EVENTS?
Not currently, as we are still in the process of renovating our small but mighty fleet. Once they’re operational, events will be TBD but not off the table!

why did I only get one strip? Why is it wet?
Every analog photo strip is one of a kind! They’re wet because they just finished going through the photo developing process! Learn more on our Analog Booth Page.
where are color photobooths?
Sadly, color photobooths are a thing of the past (for now). The paper and chems needed for color strips ceased production in 2005. There are a few owners who have deadstock and produce limited runs (and one booth in Berlin), so if you see a color booth, be sure to take advantage of the opportunity and grab a strip!
My skin tone isn’t photographing bright enough, help!
We are so sorry you’re experiencing this, and we would love to help you get the photostrip of your dreams! The booth community is working hard to find a solution to processing issues with the newer photo paper, which is currently developing darker. A few adjustments can be made to improve this: adjusting developer temperature, using brighter strobes, and tweaking aperture. If you reach out to us, we would be happy to meet you at our booth and adjust the settings until you achieve a perfectly lit strip.
why is it so expensive?
While we believe that every photo strip is a priceless memory, we understand that $8 may feel like a lot. This is because the photo paper and processing chemicals are rare and expensive. Plus, maintaining these booths is very challenging, as no parts are still in production and are hard to source. Every booth owner is doing their best to keep analog accessible, but strips are priced so we can all keep working and getting booths into the world. When you get a photostrip, you’re helping to keep a special medium alive!
how does someone get involved with analog booths?
Every photobooth technician, owner, and operator has had a different path, with many starting as photographers. We started as enthusiasts who were hired as technicians, then graduated to operating our own booths! If you’re interested in training to be a technician, we recommend reaching out to Autophoto, who has booths all over and is an incredible mentor.
Can we collaborate?
Possibly! We love collaborating with creatives on activations, photoshoots, videos, and other creative projects. We’d love to hear more. Contact us!
